Simple Project 3

Taking inspiration from old factories and industrial spaces, industrial style design is defined by architectural elements, and uses building material staples such as wood and concrete to achieve a raw, unfinished, deconstructed look.

For this project, our design inspiration is no-frills industrial chic combined with unique touches that add warmth, comfort and harmony to the space. We apply a neutral monochromatic colour palette accented with exposed red brick walls and solid hardwood furniture pieces, and juxtapose the unfinished look of the previous elements with carpeted flooring, creating an edgy agedness versus functional modernity contrast that pays homage to industrial style design while remaining timeless.

To complement the largely open plan space, we opt for pendant lights crafted from metal that hang on long wires as well as fixtures embedded into unveiled air-conditioning ducts and beams for a distinctive industrial touch. Instead of walls, we use glass panels to separate different areas and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows that allow in plenty of natural light. Right in front of the receptionist area, we place a massive tree enclosed with concrete boundaries that acts as a bench for visitors to add texture and colour to the space and make a bold design statement.
